TRV'S central heating upgrade.

Challenging day fitting 10 TRV's to a central heating system with a mix of 15mm and 10mm pipes.  Always the unexpected catches you out.  Some of the radiators were fitted to pipes that came through brick walls and having no play it was impossible to negotiate the TRV so had to resite the rads just a few mil higher.

Also why the hell do people not fit seperate header tank service valves to CH systems.

Had to isolate water to the house as I am not going to mess with the dodgy looking ball valve in the tank.

Really needs replacing.

Obviously introduced inhibitor into the system and flushed first.

Good job I filled the kettle... ;-)

The List

Lovely diverse list left by the client when I turned up.

That's the great thing about having clients keys,
   get a call - email - MSN,
        turn up,
               work,
                    Invoice.

So ..

IKEA products to construct.
IKEA blinds to alter in width and height.
Plasma to fix to wall and an IKEA 6 panel room divider to hang (now thats an interesting product!).

Altogether a mixed bag.

Makes life interesting!

Mixed bag again.. Love it....

Renew shed roofing felt and barge boards.

Repair Chubb front door lock,  yes they can be fixed...

Fit new gate lock.

Attend to central heating system and add inhibitor,  repressurise and test.

Replace incandescent bulbs with halogens in awkward light fittings.

Refit streched carpet.

Sort out drain problems, or do the same bloody job properly where some dozy prat took a shortcut before.

Plumbing problems.

Today was fun, needed to find out why a utility room has been constantly filled with a bad smell.

Seems that a plumber (sic) has connected the washing machine into a 40mm stand pipe straight down into a capped 110mm stench pipe with no trap...

That'll be it then..   sheeesh.
